Meet Alfredo Arciero, a Triality writer from Italy

Where do you write?

When I work alone, I usually write at home. If I work with a writing team I work in the company’s offices that hired us.

Which screenwriters are you most inspired by?

Woody Allen, David Mamet, Ted Tally, Alan Ball, Chris Carter.

What’s your proudest moment as a writer?

When I see that a scene or a dialogue I wrote give to the audience the emotions I had in mind to tell when I created that scene or that line.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m working with a talented Italian director, on the latest draft of the feature, WEEK END, a thriller, whose shooting will begin soon. I am also working for Triality on the development of a musical film, THE AMA ZONE.

What made you want to write in the first place?

I've always liked telling stories. One day, when I was 16, after a motorcycle accident, not serious, I had a very long dream. It was so vivid and exciting that I decided to write it and then I used that text for admission to my first screenwriting course at the end of high school.

What are your favourite films/tv series?

MOVIES: Manhattan, The Godfather I - II, Witness, Dances with Wolves, The Truman Show, Dead Poets Society, Rocky, Saturday Night Fever, The Silence of the Lambs, The Untouchables, Annie Hall, ET, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jaws, Fargo, The Exorcist, Wall Street, Amadeus, The Shining, When Harry Met Sally, Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Apartment, The Others, The Sixth Sense– please… stop me!!

TV SERIES: Twin Peaks, X Files, This Is Us, Broadchurch, Fargo.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

I read, go to the movies, watch tv series or football games, cook, play tennis and travel when I can.

What sort of characters interest you?

I like characters with a deep narrative drive and a dark side that makes them vulnerable and human. Characters that people can identify with and therefore empathize with them.

Where’s your favourite place in the world?

Obviously, I have to say Italy! I live in Rome, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Where can we see your work?

You can see a trailer of my latest Feature film IL VIAGGIO here:

And here is a Teaser I shot as director based on my original script.

FUTURO PERFECTO - It’s a thriller that I would like to make in the future.
